Renaat Berckmoes

Renaat is a Private Capital Belgium board member since 2021. He is our Chairman since the general assembly of March 2024.

Renaat is co-founding managing partner and CEO of Fortino Capital, a B2B software & tech venture capital and growth investment firm with offices in Antwerp, Amsterdam and Munich.

Prior to co-founding Fortino in 2013, Renaat has been active for 12.5 years as Group Treasurer and CFO of Telenet, a leading Belgian Telecom & Media group, acquired by Liberty Global in 2023.

Renaat started his career in 1993 as a Trade & International Finance expert at KBC Bank, servicing its Top 100 Corporate clients before joining Solutia Inc (currently Eastman Chemicals) in 1998 as Treasurer EMEA.

He holds Masters Degrees in Political Science (KUL – 1988), Business Economics (UA -1990) and Maritime Economics (UA 1993).
