What is Private Equity?
Private equity refers to professional investment activities focused on unlisted companies. Private equity investors make investments in both early-stage startups and established, larger businesses. In exchange for their investment, private equity investors receive either a majority or minority stake in the company. The goal of private equity investing is to accelerate the company’s growth.
Private equity investors are active owners, and the advantages of this approach compared to other forms of financing include a professional approach to growth and the expertise and contacts that the investors bring to their portfolio companies.

Member Benefits
When you join Private Capital Belgium, you will receive numerous significant membership benefits, such as visibility in the Belgian venture capital and private equity ecosystem and the opportunity to participate in the association’s networking and training events.
Membership Application Form
To become a full member of the association, your organisation has to have legal capacity and practice private equity or venture capital activities in Belgium. Foreign organisations may also be accepted as members. Private equity and venture capital investors (GP) as well as fund investors (LP) are welcome to join the BVA as a member.
Associate membership is granted to organisations that influence the private equity and venture capital industry in Belgium.
To join us, all you have to do, is respect our code of conduct and complete the membership application form below. A copy of our general privacy policy can be downloaded here. The acceptance of your membership is subject to board approval. After the board meeting, we will let you know our decision as soon as possible.
Visibility In Our Network
A lot of information about the association’s members and the industry is published on our website. When a new member joins the association, we add their member profile to our member directory so that the new member becomes familiar with our entire network. GPs and other private equity investors are also added to Private Capital Belgium’s investor search tool, which can be used by start-ups and growth companies that are looking for an investor.

The membership provides you access to the association’s communication: we regularly inform our members about regulation, statistics, publications, events and other relevant matters affecting the industry in Belgium. Additionally, our members gain access to member-only content, such as our policy materials, research and statistics, committee minutes, and seminar presentations.

As a member of the association, you will have access to our member-only resources, including webinar recordings, workshops materials and regulatory updates. Our member-only content also includes a wealth of guidance designed to assist members in areas such as communications and sustainability work.
